Wedding Florists

Flowers can make a life beautiful. We don't know who said that, but it is certainly a true statement. And when it comes to your wedding, we believe that flowers can make a beautiful day that much more beautiful. The challenge come in finding a florist that will be able to catch onto your vision and make something out of it. There is a method that we recommend when it comes to searching for and booking the perfect florist and we want to share it with you.

The first thing you want to do is decide whether you want a florist or a floral designer. Most professional florists have a larger skill set than a florist. A floral designer can provide other designing advice on things other than flowers. They are into looking at the overall wedding design that you have in mind and on matching everything from the tables to the walls to the carpeting. Obviously, a wedding floral designer is going to cost you a bit more than a florist so it really is all in what you are looking for and what you can afford.

Have a budget in mind before you meet with any of your wedding vendors. We estimate that about 8 to 10 percent of your overall wedding budget is about right for your floral needs. If you share this with your floral designer right from the beginning, it will allow them to work with you on savings in certain areas to try and bring your costs into your budget numbers.

When you start to meet with prospective florists, you will want to be on the lookout for a true professional. Their website should be first class all the way. If its not well put together and looks like a second grader designed it, you may want to question hiring such a person. When you go to their shop or office, look around. Do they present themselves well. Do they have a well presented office space. Ask them to see photos of previous weddings they have done. This is a good indication of what they are capable of and if you feel they could handle what you are going to throw at them. Ask them is they are registered with the Society of American Florists.

Go over in detail what packages they offer. Are there any hidden fees? Talk about how large your wedding party is and what kind of flowers you will want for various family members. We suggest sticking with in-season flowers as this will keep your costs down to a large degree. Believe us when we tell you, ordering out of season flowers will make your costs skyrocket. Talk to your florist about ways to control costs, if they are a seasoned veteran, they should have been through this before and will have some great suggestions. As soon as you find a florist that you like, book them and and start working with them as soon as possible. You are now on your way to a beautiful scene at your wedding.
